In true paddock to plate style (if one could actually eat gemstones), after 20 years of good times fossicking for Tasmanian Sapphires with his best mate in Tasmania’s pristine north west, Jai has finally brought home the goods just in time for his lovely wife’s birthday.

The largest, best quality Sapphire that Jai has pulled out of the Weld river, in the state’s north-west, was delivered to a local Hobart gem faceter (we definitely will not keep to the food metaphor by describing him as the butcher) and cut into a cushion shaped final product. The rich blue sapphire then went on to become the centrepiece of the pictured vintage style ring, complemented by the fine, hand cut engraved designs, a technique which Jai has been mastering over recent years.
